LG U+ 3 Pronged Strategy for 5G

LG U+ preemptively is building a 5G infrastructure to achieve market leader status.

Vice-Chairman Ha specifically mentioned a three pronged strategy: the establishment of network infrastructure, provision of services that exceed customer expectations, and informative marketing.

“This is the best time for us to change our competitive structure due to rapid changes in the telecommunication market next year… We are going to use 5G as a stepping stone for growth.”

Vice-Chairman Ha stated on Wednesday

LG U+’s three core values are driving the company’s development. The network infrastructure already sees the establishment of 5,500 5G base stations, more than rival telecos.

With network quality in mind, LG U+ will use a ‘cell design program’ from Forsk, one of the world’s top radio frequency design companies.

Getting consumers on board at this time is uncertain. Needing an informative marketing campaign is required simply because the average consumers is not familiar with what 5G is.

According to a survey of 3,700 customers by LG+ over 5G recognition, 76% did not know the benefits of 5G. 49% of customers said they will consider to adopt depending on how others reacted to 5G.

“We will secure differentiated business opportunities in all areas of B2B (business-to-business) and B2C (business-to-consumer) through 5G industries.”

Vice-Chairman Ha

5G was recently introduced for B2B clients, and is expanding to self-driving technology. B2C although may be tricky for immediate mass adoption, LG is planning to introduce a new volume matrix technology for AR services.
