SK Telecom is leading global standards for quantum cryptography communication technologies.
SK Telecom announced on the 7th that two new quantum cryptography communication technologies that were proposed at the recent ITU-T (International Telecommunication Union) meeting were chosen as “international standardization tasks”. Selected international standardization tasks become global standards after agreement between countries that participate in ITU-T.
One of the chosen technologies is a system for utilizing quantum key distribution in telecommunication networks. The other is a method for using current encryption systems for the distribution of quantum keys.
Both technologies are key for applying quantum cryptography to telecommunication networks.
Last years international standardization selection was a security framework for distribution of quantum keys.
SK Telecom is the only company in the world that carries out more than four international standardization tasks for quantum cryptography communication. SK Telecom is planning to develop major technologies for quantum cryptography communication with small businesses and contribute to the national economy.
“It is recognized in the world that SK Telecom’s technical skills are the most recognized technology that carries out global standardization tasks for quantum cryptography communication.”
