Naver Inc. announced on Tuesday that its D2SF Startup Factory invested in Cloa and Desilo Inc., two new promising technology startups developing solutions for the advancement of the data processing industry.

Yang Sang-whan, D2SF OIC, said that the extent of data processing worldwide annually increases 61 percent. The official added that the startups Cloa and Desilo Inc could become leaders in the field of data processing.

These days, as social interest in data analysis and utilization increases, these companies are developing technologies to improve data utilization efficiency. Naver said that experienced entrepreneurs lead both companies with not only technical competence but also excellent business sense.

Cloa’s Real-time Data Pipeline Solution

Cloa is developing a data pipeline solution optimized to process massive amounts of data in real-time. The data solution is characterized by designing all functions with real-time data in mind and improving data processing speed and throughput compared to existing solutions.

Engineers with expertise in 5G-based communication environments and distributed processing technology compose the data tech startup. The company aspires to become the innovator in the next-generation data systems for cloud and edge computing technology.

Morgan Lim, the CEO, said that Cloa targets to develop real-time data processing pipelines. The company intends to register in both the cloud and edge computing solutions market by the end of this year.

Desilo Inc.’s Machine Learning Solution

Desilo composes a team of engineers, headed by Lee Seung-myeong, with expertise in AI and encryption technology systems.

The startup is developing a machine learning solution that utilizes homogeneous cryptography. Homogeneous encryption is a technology that enables the computing of data in an encrypted state. The solution solves the problem of data privacy and data silos reducing potential security breaches and data leakage.

Lee said that the company envisions a data-centered world with minimal security risks or none at all. Desilo’s technology could relate to various fields like remote monitoring systems and genome analysis.

He also said that with the increase of applications utilizing sensitive private data, implementation of the company’s procedures and technology could provide security to companies involved in different industries.
