The Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy & Innovation (Gyeonggi CCEI), led by Director Kim Won-Kyung, hosted its 15th Startup 815 IR event at the Pangyo Startup Zone within Pangyo Techno Valley on August 24. This recurring event, held every Thursday, serves as a platform for connecting innovative startups with potential investors, enriching the startup investment landscape.

Startup 815 IR gathered 12 selected startups specializing in cutting-edge technology and 17 potential investors. The event was organized into segments such as expert feedback sessions, real-time investment matching, information sharing, and networking. These activities were divided into different categories based on the startups’ investment stages and industrial niches.

The event witnessed participation from various organizations, including the Gyeonggi Small and Medium Business Administration, Sungkyunkwan University Startup Support Team, and the Korea Information Security Industry Association. In the ‘Seed Track,’ facilitated by Sungkyunkwan University, four emerging companies in the bio-health sector presented their innovative solutions. These included H&S BioLab, Baromark, Smart SimBio, and Prospective Entrepreneurs, each offering cutting-edge technologies ranging from omics-based diagnostics to RNA therapeutic delivery platforms.

Another highlight was the ‘Seed Track’ run by the Korea Information Security Industry Association, focusing on startups in the cybersecurity space. Four companies from the Information Security Cluster located in the 2nd Pangyo Techno Valley presented their offerings. These included CTI Lab’s AI-based security platform, KIWONTECH’s targeted email attack solutions, KIND SOFT’s blockchain-based PC login security, and ID LAB’s iris recognition-based pet identification service.

Operated by the GCCEI, the ‘Next Track’ served as a matchmaking session for TIPS applicants and operators. Seven companies in the security, network, and robotics sectors showcased their technologies. Among them were Aen OPEN’s face recognition solution, Kalmanteg’s autonomous driving platform, UNDERMILLI’s low-latency voice communication tech, and Advance Solution’s eco-friendly indoor sterilization robot.

An official from Gyeonggi CCEI emphasized that the event aims to activate the investment ecosystem. By expanding networks and fostering synergy between startups, investment firms, and other organizations, they aim to support startups through customized investor networks tailored to their respective sectors and growth stages.

Gyeonggi CCEI, located in Pangyo Techno Valley, collaborates with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, Gyeonggi-do, and partner company KT to support the innovative growth of startups in ICT fields such as AI, big data, 5G, and intelligent robots. Through full-cycle acceleration programs and open innovation, the center helps these startups successfully transition to the next phase of their business journey.

With its extensive reach and impact, Gyeonggi CCEI’s Startup 815 IR stands as a cornerstone for fostering innovation and investment in South Korea’s burgeoning technology sector.
