Hyundai Motor Company said that it collaborated with international K-pop group BTS to release a new song, “IONIQ: I’m On It,” to celebrate the launch of Hyundai’s new dedicated EV brand IONIQ.

The single is Hyundai’s first music project with BTS following the launch campaign “IONIQ in charge of turning the world.” Hyundai launched the new EV brand in August to separate its EV lineup from its existing car lineups. During the inauguration, the carmaker introduced three vehicle models with a dedicated battery platform called E-GMP (Global Modular Platform).

IONIQ: I’m On It is available for free download starting on August 31 on Hyundai Worldwide website (https://www.hyundai.com/worldwide/en). Meanwhile, the music video would premiere on Hyundai’s official YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/hyundaiworldwide) on September 2. The music video would also feature Hyundai’s latest concept EV Prophecy introduced in March.

The brand song, sung and rapped by the seven members of BTS, expresses feelings of curiosity, hope, discovery, creativity, and inspiration for the future as with IONIQ’s goal to provide customers with connected lifestyle solutions.

Under IONIQ, Hyundai aims to launch the three EV models in the next four years. The company would start with a mid-sized CUV IONIQ 5 in 2021 followed by a sedan IONIQ 6 in 2022, and a large SUV IONIQ 7 in 2024.

Spreading Positive Energy

Hyundai’s IONIQ brand reinforces the company’s commitment to clean mobility and promote its transformation into a Smart Mobility Solution Provider.

“I hope Hyundai and BTS’s new collaboration song encourages the band’s global fan base as well as our customers to draw their attention to Hyundai’s vision for clean mobility, which is being realized through the new IONIQ EV brand.”

-Wonhong Cho, Hyundai’s Executive Vice President and Global Chief Marketing Officer

Hyundai aims to spread the value of positive energy, answering environmental and sustainable problems that concern Millennials and Gen-Z.
