Kakao Mobility has launched its robot delivery service, BRING, at the Restree Resom Hotel in Jecheon, North Chungcheong Province, South Korea. The service results from a partnership with Hoban Hotels & Resorts, which aims to enhance guest experiences through its technology.
BRING, introduced by Kakao Mobility in April this year, is now operational at the resort, offering automated delivery solutions to guests. With this, Kakao Mobility will expand its service offerings in the hospitality sector.
Kakao Mobility’s BRING service optimizes the allocation of complex delivery orders, minimizing the need for human intervention while enhancing the efficiency of the robots’ movements. This advanced system is versatile enough to operate in various environments, including offices, hotels, hospitals, and residential areas.Â
Following a successful proof of concept at Restree Resom, Kakao Mobility officially launched the robot delivery service on August 5. The service currently offers beverage deliveries during the day and room amenity deliveries at night, with plans to expand to simple meal deliveries in the near future. This approach allows the service to cater to different guest needs throughout the day.
Guests at Restree Resom can easily access the BRING service by scanning a QR code provided in their rooms, which connects them to the resort’s ordering website. The streamlined process allows guests to place and pay for orders without downloading a separate app. Upon delivery, guests receive a text notification and can retrieve their items using a password provided by the system.
The operation of the BRING service is powered by Kakao Mobility’s open API platform, BRING-ON, which is integrated with the resort’s ordering system. This integration enhances the convenience of the robot delivery service, making it easier for hotels and other service providers to implement similar technologies without the need for extensive modifications to their existing systems.
Kakao Mobility’s open API platform, Bring-On, enabled the successful implementation of the BRING service at the resort. This platform integrates seamlessly with the resort’s order web, optimizing robot assignment and automating delivery services by accounting for various factors, such as robot status and resort variables.
Since launching at Nudit Seoul Forest in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, the company has formed partnerships, including a recent agreement with Hyundai Elevator. The duo will further develop and enhance the robot service platform. Jang Sung-wook, head of Kakao Mobility’s Future Mobile Research Institute, emphasized that the company aims to lead in robot service platforms by refining delivery scenarios across various environments.
