Samsung Electronics has unveiled its plans to introduce the Samsung Game Portal, an exclusive online gaming store on Samsung.com across 30 countries worldwide.

Evelyn Kim, Executive Vice President of the D2C Center at Samsung Electronics, commented on the new venture in a press release. “Gaming has become an important part of consumers’ lifestyle, not just entertainment, especially for Millennials and Gen Z,” he said.

Samsung already has a gaming hub and cloud gaming services on its connected TVs. With its global rollout, the Game Portal will offer gamers in various countries a centralized platform to access and discover an extensive range of gaming content and products. By consolidating these gaming-related items in one place, the Game Portal aims to streamline the browsing and purchasing experience for users.

In addition to its wide product offerings, the Game Portal aims to cater to gamers’ diverse interests by curating a variety of gaming-related content. This content will be tailored to individual preferences and experiences, ensuring users can easily access and discover gaming-related information, news, and resources within the platform.

According to a recent study, the Game Portal’s approach aligns with the habits of modern gamers. The study revealed that many gamers are cross-platform users, utilizing multiple devices to play games.

These dedicated gamers spend an average of 16 hours per week engaging in gaming activities, eight hours per week watching gaming-related videos, and six hours per week participating in gaming communities.

The Samsung Game Portal will feature a range of impressive products tailored to the needs of gamers. Notable offerings include the Galaxy S23 Ultra smartphone, specifically optimized for mobile gaming. With its high-performance Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy and a robust 5000mAh battery, this device ensures a seamless gaming experience on the go.

Additionally, the Game Portal will offer the Neo QLED TV, a television that enables users to enjoy cloud gaming without requiring a separate gaming console, thanks to the integrated Samsung Gaming Hub.

For an immersive gaming experience, the Game Portal will showcase the Odyssey OLED G9 gaming monitor. Boasting a curved 49-inch OLED screen, this monitor creates a captivating visual environment that draws players into the game world. Moreover, the Game Portal will feature the 990 PRO SSD, a high-performance solid-state drive that delivers exceptional sequential read and write speeds of up to 7,450 and 6,900MB/s, respectively. This SSD ensures faster loading times for PlayStation and DirectStorage PC games, enhancing the overall gaming performance for enthusiasts.

“We will implement various initiatives to provide customers with a superior gaming experience, from purchase to use, by providing an environment that makes it enjoyable and easy to purchase gaming-related products,” Kim stated.
