Samsung Electronics Co. released on Thursday its new and expanded line of 2020 QLED 4K and 8K TV models. The technology company made the TVs available for purchase or pre-order on its website, Samsung.com. The line is also offered at select retailers nationwide.

The company’s latest QLED line features an expanded 8K Series, larger screen sizes for 4K, and 8K models. The models also integrate improved AI capabilities designed to provide the most dynamic sound and pristine picture quality experience available.

“Our 2020 QLED line is the best of all worlds.”

-James Fishler, Senior Vice President of Samsung Electronics America.

James added that the company’s products with industry-leading picture quality, breathtaking design, and smart capabilities make the 2020 QLED TV line exceed the consumers’ expectations.

All 8K and 4K QLED TV models launched would feature Samsung Health, Multi-View, and enhanced Samsung TV Plus.

Samsung’s new 2020 QLED line provides consumers instant access to a broad selection of entertainment content with Samsung TV Plus. The service is free and works right out of the box without additional devices or subscriptions.

The line is also integrated with Bixby, Alexa, and the Google Assistant voice control.

First-Ever Wi-Fi 6

Samsung also announced that its 2020 QLED 8K TV lineup would become the world’s first TV sets to acquire certification for the newest wireless standard Wi-Fi 6.

Wi-Fi Alliance, a non-profit organization that promotes Wi-Fi technology and certificates Wi-Fi products, granted the certificate earlier this month.

Wi-Fi 6 is the latest wireless standard with higher transmission throughput while saving on power, translating to smoother 8K streaming capabilities.

Picture Quality

The expanded QLED 8K TV line features Direct Full Array that adds local power distribution to fine-tune dimming zones, which would result in images that are 20 percent brighter. The feature eases the viewing experience significantly, and when combined with Quantum HDR, consumers can view their favorite content in as rich detail as possible.

8K Quantum Processor Powerhouse

Samsung developed an AI deep-learning capability that automatically upscales all non-8K content to pristine and true-to-life 8K resolution. The new, redesigned AI Quantum Processor 8K adds a neural network, restoring fine details that would otherwise not be visible. The powerhouse creates a beautiful, optimized picture with the vibrant, realistic colors of QLED.

The AI Quantum Processor also features Adaptive Picture, which uses a built-in sensor that analyzes both the brightness of the room and the visuals displayed to deliver the optimal experience regardless of the viewing environment.

Samsung’s processor optimizes the listening experience as well with its ability to adjust sound levels in response to ambient noise in the room.

Gaming TV

Samsung’s Real Game Enhancer offers multiple variable refresh rates, which provide smooth and clear game pictures without any tearing or stuttering.

Additionally, a new Surround Sound feature offers OTS and Adaptive Sound. This means that gamers can play with directional, and dimensional game sound for a fully immersive experience.

Ambient Mode

Samsung updated its award-winning Ambient Mode for the 2020 TV line. Ambient Mode offers more experiences geared towards users, designed to satisfy each individual’s needs and tastes.

Samsung said that as an industry leader, it would keep up efforts to apply the latest technology in its product lineup.
