LG Electronics Inc. reinforced its dedication to delivering the best possible big-screen gaming experiences by providing Dolby Vision HDR at 4K 120Hz support. LG is also the first-ever TV manufacturer to offer availability for the sought-after Dolby Vision gaming technology.

Thanks to their advanced gaming capabilities and highly efficient, user-friendly controls, LG’s premium OLED TVs provide outstanding next-generation gaming experiences. Moreover, the South Korean tech innovator would apply the firmware update to compatible gaming platforms.

Dolby Vision HDR at 4K 120Hz

In particular, LG would employ the Dolby Vision firmware version 03.15.27 to its C1 and G1 OLED TV series. These models would also be the world’s first TVs with the capability to support the state-of-the-art Dolby Vision tech.

LG would also install the Dolby Vision HDR at 4K 120Hz to additional premium 2021 OLED lineups in the future. Some of the TVs include the NanoCell NANO99, OLED Z1, and QNED Mini LED QNED99 series.

Additionally, the company would incorporate the firmware upgrade to these models in July. Aside from applying the Dolby Vision gaming tech to these products, LG plans to conduct more Dolby Vision firmware trials in 60Hz or 120Hz for other 2020 and 2021 TV lineups.

Game Dashboard

Furthermore, LG’s Dolby Vision firmware-enabled OLED TVs would present another new feature to unlock higher, more convenient gaming experience levels. Comparable with transparent head-up displays (HUD) equipped in countless games, Game Dashboard is an onscreen floating menu.

Game Dashboard allows LG TV owners to configure their devices and access settings quickly. The technology also enables users to switch between game genres, including FPS, RPG, RTS, or Standard, without pausing onscreen action.

Besides these functions, Game Dashboard displays other mode statuses, including the black stabilizer, low latency, and variable refresh rate. LG also equipped this new feature to all 2021 LG TVs with Game Optimizer support.

LG OLED TVs

Over the past years, globally recognized gamers and publications regarded LG OLED TVs as some of the best gaming products. In addition to offering smooth and fast play with minimal lag, LG’s TVs deliver ultra-responsive gameplay, helping gamers hit leaderboards.

Recently, LG has been ramping up efforts to pursue the ever-growing gaming industry with its market-leading products.

In particular, LG announced that it would launch a smaller OLED TV sometime this year. The soon-to-be-released 42-inch unit also aims to meet gamers’ needs by providing enhanced, high-quality, and immersive gameplay.

Currently, LG is the world’s largest OLED TV supplier. Market data providers also project that LG would soon take more than 50% of the world’s OLED TV market share.
