LG Electronics on Thursday revealed its first wearable air purifier to deliver a new portable protection level of safety. The PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier answers the problem with homemade masks being of unreliable quality and shortage in disposable masks.

LG strives to increase its sales of health care products amidst the current situation brought by the COVID-19 pandemic. PuriCare Wearable would debut in other countries by the last quarter of this year.

The South Korean appliance maker would officially introduce its latest innovations together with the LG PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier online next week at Europe’s largest tech expo IFA 2020. The virtual exhibition would take place all through September.

LG said the product utilizes two H13 HEPA filters, the same as those found in their home air purifier products. The replaceable filters could provide fresh and clean air indoor or outdoor.

The LG PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier lets users inhale clean and filtered air with its dual three-speed fans. Simultaneously, the patented Respiratory Sensor identifies the volume and cycle of the user’s breathing, which then regulates the fans accordingly. The dual-fans either speed up or slow-down in tune with the wearer’s breathing.

Designed for Efficiency and Comfort

The wearable air purifier, designed for efficiency and comfort, fits perfectly around the nose and chin to minimize air leakage. The user could wear the product comfortably everyday and in long hours as required in hospitals and other healthcare facilities.

The product includes an 820 mAh battery that operates up to eight hours in low mode and two hours in high mode.

The LG PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier comes with a self-disinfecting case using ultraviolet LED rays that kill harmful germs.

The case could also charge the mask and notify the user if filters need replacing through the LG ThinQ mobile app. The product consists of replaceable and recyclable materials as well.

Dan Song, LG Electronics Home Appliance & Air Solution Company president, said that the company believes in offering solutions of significant value to consumers for a safer and more convenient way of life.
