Samsung Electronics introduced its next-generation foldable device, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2, during the second virtual Galaxy Unpacked 2020.

The Galaxy Z Fold2 is the third in Samsung’s foldable smartphone lineup. Samsung initially introduced the handset during the first “Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2020” event last August. However, it did not reveal any details about the smartphone.

The handset features enhanced refinements created from cutting-edge technology and attracting media attention worldwide. The foldable phone includes a 6.2-inch cover screen and a massive 7.6-inch main screen, which combines solid design with expert craftsmanship.

The Galaxy Z Fold2 contains a variety of attributes, which contribute to its overall design and functionality. The bigger sized cover screen enables users to check emails, watch videos, or locate maps without unfolding the phone. The main screen offers a 120 Hz refresh rate perfect for smooth scrolling and gameplay.

TM Roh, President and Head of Samsung’s Mobile Communications Business, stated that the company strives to create the next generation mobile devices with originality and innovations. The Galaxy Z Fold2 contains hardware enhancements strengthened by Samsung’s partnership with Microsoft and Google.

Enhancements Strengthened by Innovations

The smartphone features five cameras with a high level of quality and control to capture stunning content with its front and rear cameras. The cover screen and the main screen provide a dual preview for both the photographer and the subject. The cover screen also acts as the viewfinder.

The device includes a total of five cameras that could capture the moment with photos or videos.

The rear contains a triple camera with 12 million pixels and a 10-megapixel camera on its cover and main displays.

The Galaxy Z Fold2 contains an Ultra-Thin Glass mounted on the main screen to provide a more sophisticated display. The Hideaway Hinge anchors the device’s body and fits seamlessly into the device. The Hinge, combined with the CAM mechanism, enables the user to set up the device in Flex mode from various angles.

The device also comes with high-dynamic dual speakers for more precise sound and enhanced stereo effect.

The Multi-Active Window allows multitasking capabilities for maximum user productivity. This enables users to open and view multiple files simultaneously and switch layouts or applications smoothly on the main screen.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 comes in Mystic Black and Mystic Bronze designs. The device costs 2.398 million Won ($2,000). Samsung would release the new product on September 18, 2020, worldwide, including the US and Korea.
