Samsung, LG Products Amass Innovation Awards for CES 2021

Samsung Electronics Co. and LG Electronics Inc. received numerous Innovation Awards at the 2021 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) on Wednesday. The CES 2021 Innovation Awards winners would virtually showcase their latest tech exhibit appliances starting on January 11.

Samsung Electronics won 44 Innovation Awards this year, including four “Best of Innovation” awards. The Best of Innovation awards consisted of the Galaxy Buds+ BTS Edition, Galaxy Note 20, and other TV display products. Last year, Samsung bagged 46 awards, which made its best performance to date.

The 44 awards comprised different categories ranging from displays, chips, wearables, and smart homes. Sixteen awards came from Samsung’s TV segment, 11 awards from mobile devices, and nine from consumer electronics. Additionally, three awards came from audio systems, one from monitors, and four from semiconductors.

The Premiere, Samsung’s smart projector, which provides 4K picture quality via 130-inch and 120-inch projections, also won an award. The Terrace Soundbar, a sound system built for the Terrace television for outdoor viewing, also received an award.

In the home appliance category, the connected refrigerator brand called Family Hub, and a customizable lineup named Bespoke, also gained recognition.

LG Electronics

LG Electronics Inc. earned 24 Innovation Awards for its products and services. The accolades is the highest ever recognition achieved by LG, including two Best of Innovation Awards. These awards mainly came from LG’s televisions and home appliances.

LG won the Best of Innovation Award for its OLED display technology and the Styler steam closet with the TrueSteam system. Its electronic purification mask, Puri Care air cleaner, and laptop also received the same recognition.

Both LG and Samsung would participate in the online CES show this year from January 11 to January 14. The main press event would happen on January 11 with the theme “a Better Normal for All.”

The Consumer Technology Association (CTA) proclaims the honorees yearly and selects winners across 28 categories based on design and engineering.

CES awards the “Best of Innovation” recognition to the highest-rated product in each category.
