Samsung Suspends One UI 4 Update for Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3

Samsung’s stable build update of One UI 4 for Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 was to be released sometime soon. However, it has now been suspended. According to a report, the South Korean tech giant temporarily paused the new update due to bugs in its development. The company had to take the decision owing to several complaints coming from Samsung users who struggled to install the One UI 4 update.

Soon after releasing the new update for Galaxy 21 and 22 series, the company began working on the One UI 4 update for Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Fold 3 starting from October. However, the new bugs in the update have caused a delay in its official rollout for Samsung users.

An android community argues that the update was yet to reach the needed stability, as a result of which it was discontinued. Some Samsung users have complained that the new update stopped the functioning of their smartphones while others had their smartphones hung in the recovery mode.

Although a few users managed to install the new update successfully, it affected the phone performance with several damages, including deleted images, screen flickering, improper display, poor audio-video quality, and more. Some complaints mention the issues with taking screenshots in certain apps like Netflix or Prime.

In a nutshell, the company has taken a massive risk with the update, which failed to make a good market entry.

Samsung had started launching the new update for the aforementioned models in Serbia on December 7. The update had several new features, including the December 2021 security patch. Additionally, it came with a redesigned UI having newer widgets. Besides, new Google and Samsung default applications were added to the phone.

Samsung launched the new Galaxy Z smartphone generation in Korea in August 2021. Although the smartphones received great demand in Korea and around the world, the new update has harmed the fandom of their foldable smartphone lineup.

Samsung is currently testing the new stable build One UI 4 update for its latest smartphone series, including Samsung Galaxy S22, Galaxy S21, Galaxy Z Fold3, and Galaxy Z Flip3.

Samsung users will have to wait until the bugs are resolved in the new update. At present, the company has not commented on the new launch date of the latest android update. However, the android community expects the new fixes to be done in a few weeks.
